JFP Equine is a family-run Clydesdale horse business located in Waterloo, Illinois, approx. 35 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. We specialize in up-close-and-personal Clydesdale experiences, private events, horse training, and Clydesdale sales — offering an unforgettable connection to these world-famous gentle giants.
WHO RUNS JFP EQUINE?
JFP Equine was founded by Jim Poole, a lifelong horseman who managed the Budweiser Clydesdale program for nearly 25 years. Today, the tradition continues with Jim, supported by his son, Barclay — blending history, heart, and horsemanship.
DOES JFP EQUINE SELL AND TRAIN CLYDESDALES?
Yes, it’s a core of our business! We have Clydesdales available for sale throughout the year, trained for various purposes — from show-ready horses to farm companions. We take pride in doing our best to offer high-quality, world-class horses that reflect generations of expertise and care.
DOES JFP EQUINE OFFER CLYDESDALE EXPERIENCES TO THE PUBLIC?
You betcha! At JFP Equine, we’ve opened our barn to individuals, families and groups (schools, corporate, etc) looking for a unique Clydesdale adventure. You’ve never experienced Clydesdales quite like this, up-close-and-personal and in small group sizes, all weaved through the unique story of JFP Equine. (Please note, all ‘experiences’ must be pre-registered for in advance.)
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A CLYDESDALE EXPERIENCE?
It depends on the experience you choose (we offer three!). No matter which one you choose expect the opportunity to meet our Clydesdales, learn some Clydesdale fun facts, and have the opportunity to take some very EPIC photos. Learn more about each of our three experiences ,here.

IS JFP EQUINE CONNECTED TO BUDWEISER?
No, we’re independent. But our founder Jim Poole led the Budweiser Clydesdale program for nearly 25 years before retiring to begin JFP Equine.
DO YOU OFFER SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS OR GROUP TOURS?
Yes, in limited group sizes. We regularly host private group experiences for schools, businesses and senior communities.
CAN YOUR HORSES TRAVEL TO OUR EVENT?
Yes — our horses and handlers are available for off-site events across the St. Louis region (and sometimes beyond!).
